I’m calling this “Dump Chili” because you literally could just dump whatever veggies, beans or even choose the meat that you want into this. I’m going to give you the recipe of what I threw in the pot tonight that tasted AMAZING. You do whatever YOU like but perhaps keep the sauce and seasonings true to this recipe. Let’s do it.
Ingredients:
1lb Organic Ground Turkey
1lb Organic Ground Beef
Green Valley Kidney Beans or any 16 oz can
1 Zucchini chopped (shred it if you need to hide from picky eaters)
1/2 Onion
1 28 oz can Muir Glen Fire Roasted Crushed Tomatoes
1/2 cup Broth of your choice (I used homemade chicken bone broth)
1 T Ghee
1 Tbs Coconut Aminos
1/2 tsp Fish Sauce (trust me again)
2 T Chile Powder
1 T Cacao Powder (trust me)
1 T Pink Salt
1 1/2 t Cumin
1 1/2 t Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Oregano
((Feel free to add in Crushed Red Pepper Flakes/Black Pepper/Cayenne. I left it out so this wouldn’t be spicy for the kiddos))
In your dutch oven, brown your Ground Meat (Bison/Turkey/Beef) then drain and set aside. Add Ghee to the pot with your veggies and cook about 5 minutes. Then add in seasonings, kidney beans and meat back to the pot with your Coconut Aminos and Fish Sauce. At this point you can pour in your broth and crushed tomatoes. Stir to combine. Taste to see how you like the flavors. Let simmer on low heat for 30 minutes or however long you want. Flavors develop nicely with time but this was yummy with only 30 minutes of simmering.
I served this with roasted Radishes that I seasoned with Smoked Paprika, Pepper, Onion Powder and Salt. I had Sweet Potatoes roasted with salt and Cinnamon to go with it and some Avocado as well. Every single family member was happy and that is ALWAYS my goal!
As with most of my recipes, you can choose ANY veggies you like to add to this! If I had them, I would’ve loved to put in carrots, butternut squash, bell peppers, or mushrooms. Jalepenos and all of the spicy seasonings would be going in this for myself if I had them on hand too! If you add extra seasonings, you might play around with the liquid amounts a bit. Adding in an extra 1/2 cup of broth or an extra Tablespoon of Coconut Aminos never will hurt!
